Alabama: Can car dealerships open on Sundays?
Sunday sales allowed
Alabama has no state law barring car dealers from selling on Sunday. Its old Sunday closing law was repealed in 2015.
Alabama used to have a general criminal law against keeping a store open on Sunday. The legislature repealed it in 2015 (Act 2015-70). A full-text search of the official Code of Alabama for "Sunday" found no rule aimed at motor vehicle sales. A few county-specific local laws in Title 45 still mention Sunday store hours, such as one for Cullman County, but they grant permission to open rather than ban it. Whether a dealer opens on Sunday is up to the dealer.
What the law says
Repealed by Act 2015-70 effective April 21, 2015.
