Kansas: Do you need a front license plate?
Rear plate only
Kansas requires only a rear license plate on a passenger car, and generally bars a plate on the front.
Kansas issues one plate for a passenger car, attached to the rear. The law says a Kansas-registered vehicle may not have a plate on the front, with limited exceptions. One exception lets a personalized plate issued to a passenger car or truck go on the front.
What the law says
The license plate assigned to the vehicle shall be attached to the rear of the vehicle and shall be displayed during the current registration year or years. Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b), a Kansas registered vehicle shall not have a license plate attached to the front of the vehicle.
