Hawaii: Do adults have to wear motorcycle helmets?

Only some riders

Hawaii requires helmets only for motorcycle and motor scooter riders and passengers under 18.

Riders 18 and older, including passengers, may ride without a helmet. A separate rule requires a helmet for people who rent a moped or motor scooter and do not hold a motorcycle license. Hawaii also requires eye protection (glasses, goggles, or a face shield) on motorcycles and scooters without a windshield.
