Connecticut: Does the state have a sales-tax-free weekend?
Connecticut holds an annual Sales Tax Free Week in August for clothing and footwear; 2026 raised the price limit to $300.
The week runs from the third Sunday in August through the following Saturday; in 2026 it was August 16 to 22. Clothing and footwear under $300 per item were exempt in 2026, up from the long-standing $100 limit, and backpacks and cleats were added. Separately, a 2026 law made nonelectronic school supplies tax-free all year starting July 1, 2026; that is a year-round exemption, not a holiday.
