Florida: Does the state have a sales-tax-free weekend?

Has a tax-free period

Florida has a permanent yearly back-to-school sales tax holiday, now running July 20 through August 20.

Since a 2026 change, state law sets the back-to-school holiday from July 20 through August 20 every year. It covers clothing, shoes and bags up to $100, school supplies up to $50, learning aids up to $30, and personal computers up to $1,500 for home use. In 2026 Florida also held a hunting, fishing and camping holiday from September 1 through December 31, set by a 2026 law. The state guidance says tax is not due on eligible items and does not treat state and local tax differently.
