Michigan: Does the state have a lottery?
Has a state lottery
Yes. Michigan runs a state lottery under the 1972 lottery act, with net revenue going to the state School Aid Fund.
The McCauley-Traxler-Law-Bowman-McNeely Lottery Act (Act 239 of 1972) directs the lottery commissioner to set up and run a state lottery. Net lottery revenue must be deposited in the state School Aid Fund. The law lets the lottery join games run with other states, but the official pages opened did not list which multistate games are sold.
What the law says
The commissioner shall initiate, establish, and operate a state lottery at the earliest feasible and practicable time.
