North Dakota: Is there an annual vehicle safety inspection?
No safety inspection
North Dakota has no regular or point-of-sale safety inspection for passenger cars.
The only inspections NDDOT describes are for salvage or reconstructed vehicles, which need a repair shop's inspection certificate before getting a regular title. Cars must still meet state equipment laws while on the road.
What the law says
Customers needing an inspection in order to obtain a regular certificate of title should contact their local motor vehicle repair shops.
