Utah: Can car dealerships open on Sundays?

Limited by place or day

Utah dealers can't sell or lease cars on both Saturday and Sunday of the same weekend, so they must close one day.

The rule covers selling, leasing, and offering cars for sale or lease. Exceptions exist for undue hardship or emergencies, as set by state rule, and for trade shows with five or more dealers held away from any dealer's own lot. Each day and each vehicle counts as a separate offense. A 2025 bill to repeal the rule did not pass, and the section was amended again in 2026 with the weekend rule kept.
