Nevada: Are fireworks legal?

Unclear

Nevada has no statewide list of allowed consumer fireworks, so counties and cities decide and rules vary widely.

State law gives county commissions the power to ban, restrict or regulate the sale, use, storage and possession of fireworks. The State Fire Marshal regulates fireworks storage and use and licenses commercial displays, and its rules let only certified operators use fireworks, except 'safe and sane' Class C fireworks, and allow 1.3 and 1.4 fireworks only where a local ordinance approves them. The state never defines 'safe and sane', so which items are legal statewide is unclear. In Clark County (Las Vegas), only 'safe and sane' fireworks are allowed, and only from June 28 through July 4. County penalties may not apply to children under 18 unless they are emancipated.
