Connecticut: Is it legal to pump your own gas?

Self-serve allowed

Connecticut allows self-service gas; state law refers to self-service pumps and requires help for drivers with disabilities.

Connecticut law requires dealers who offer both self-service and full-service to pump gas at a self-service pump, when asked, for drivers with a disability plate or placard. They cannot charge more than the self-service price. Dealers with remote-controlled pumps or a single cashier are exempt. No Connecticut law bars customers from pumping their own gas, though this answer is inferred from laws that assume self-service exists.

What the law says

Each retail dealer as defined in section 14-318 that offers self-service and full-service facilities for the sale of gasoline or motor fuel shall provide, at a self-service pump, upon request, refueling service to an operator who has a disability and is operating a motor vehicle that bears a special license plate or a removable windshield placard issued pursuant to section 14-253a, at a price no greater than that which such dealer would charge the public to purchase gasoline or motor fuel without any refueling service.
