Oregon: Does the state have a lottery?
Oregon has a state lottery, approved by voters in 1984 and run by the Oregon State Lottery Commission.
The first game, a scratch ticket called Pot of Gold, went on sale on April 25, 1985. Under later voter-approved measures, proceeds fund public schools, natural resources and state parks, Outdoor School, and veteran services. Oregon was a founding member of the multistate game that became Powerball, and it added Mega Millions in 2010.
