Kansas: Is there an annual vehicle safety inspection?
No safety inspection
No. Kansas does not require safety inspections of private cars; cars titled in another state get a Highway Patrol VIN check.
A used car titled in another state must be checked by the Kansas Highway Patrol before it can get a Kansas title. The check confirms that the VIN on the out-of-state title is genuine and matches the car, and may look for signs of fraud. It is not an inspection of brakes, lights or other equipment. Kansas has no emissions testing program either.
Conditions
