Ohio: Is there an annual vehicle safety inspection?
No safety inspection
Ohio does not require safety inspections of passenger cars.
Vehicles with out-of-state titles get a VIN inspection when retitled in Ohio. That inspection checks identity, not equipment. Some counties require E-Check emissions testing before registration. Rebuilt salvage, self-assembled and replica vehicles get a separate State Highway Patrol inspection.
What the law says
E-Check certificate - if registering in a county that requires E-Check
