Connecticut: Where can you buy liquor?
Private licensed stores
Connecticut issues package store permits to private stores to sell liquor; grocery stores get a separate beer permit.
A package store permit allows retail sale of alcoholic liquor in sealed containers to drink elsewhere. The same law sets up a separate grocery store beer permit. The permit covers 'alcoholic liquor', a term that includes spirits, and no state-run stores or state wholesale system were found.
What the law says
A package store permit shall allow the retail sale of alcoholic liquor in sealed bottles or containers not to be consumed on the permit premises.
