Illinois: Can car dealerships open on Sundays?
Illinois bars car dealers from being open to sell or lease new or used cars on Sunday.
The ban covers keeping a dealership open on Sunday to buy, sell, trade, or lease (for a year or more) any motor vehicle. A dealer may still open on Sunday to sell parts, fuel, and tires, run a repair shop, offer washing or towing, or take part in a trade show under a Secretary of State permit. Dealers that sell only motorcycles, manufactured homes, or RVs are also exempt.
Conditions
- Parts, service, washing, and towing may operate on Sunday
- Trade show exhibitions allowed with a Secretary of State permit
