Delaware: Do you need a front license plate?
Rear plate only
Delaware issues one plate for passenger cars, and it goes on the rear.
State law says the plate must always be attached to the rear of the vehicle, and the DMV furnishes one plate per registered vehicle (§ 2121(a)). Truck tractors pulling trailers show their plate on the front. Optional special plates may go on the front, but the regular plate or a duplicate must then be on the rear.
What the law says
The number plate assigned to a motor vehicle shall at all times be attached to the rear of the motor vehicle, except truck tractors attached to trailers or semitrailers, whether coupled or uncoupled, shall display the number plate on the front of the vehicle in such a manner as to be easily identified.
