Kentucky: Is it legal to pump your own gas?
Self-serve allowed
Kentucky allows drivers to pump their own gas. Its fire code adopts NFPA 1, which permits self-service stations.
The Kentucky Standards of Safety adopt the 2018 edition of NFPA 1, the national fire code. NFPA 1 has a section on self-service fuel stations. Kentucky's rule makes no change to that section and has no ban on self-service. Kentucky's old fire marshal rule on self-service stations has been repealed.
