Arizona: Does the state have a lottery?
Has a state lottery
Arizona runs a state lottery overseen by the Arizona State Lottery Commission.
State law directs the Lottery Commission to oversee a state lottery and allows multistate ("multijurisdictional") games. After prizes and costs, lottery money goes to fixed amounts for the Game and Fish Heritage Fund, health and family programs, university bonds and other uses, with the rest going to the state general fund.
What the law says
The commission shall oversee a state lottery to produce the maximum amount of net revenue consonant with the dignity of the state.
