Ohio: Does the state observe daylight saving time?

Observes DST

Ohio observes daylight saving time and has not enacted a law to change it.

Ohio's standard-time statute, written in 1953, sets Eastern Standard Time and does not mention daylight saving time. The federal Uniform Time Act still moves Ohio's clocks forward each summer because the state never exempted itself. Ohio legislative resolutions urging Congress to act (2020, 2025) are not laws and did not change the state's clocks.
