Arkansas: Does the state observe daylight saving time?
Observes DST
Arkansas observes daylight saving time and has no enacted law to change that.
Federal law puts every state on daylight saving time unless the state opts out by law, and Arkansas has not opted out. Federal time officials list only Arizona and Hawaii as states that skip it. A 2025 bill to keep standard time all year (HB 1069) did not pass.
What the law says
However, DST is not observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the state of Arizona (with the exception of the Navajo Indian Reservation, which does observe DST).
