Colorado: Does the state observe daylight saving time?

Observes DST, law to go year-round

Colorado observes daylight saving time, but a 2022 law would make it year-round if Congress allows and four other Mountain states agree.

Governor Jared Polis signed HB22-1297 on June 2, 2022. Year-round daylight time starts only after federal law allows it and at least four other states in the Mountain time zone pass similar laws. The governor must then notify the state's revisor of statutes, and the change starts on the first Sunday of November after that.

Conditions

  • Federal law must allow year-round daylight saving time
  • At least four other Mountain time zone states must enact the same
  • Governor must notify the revisor of statutes that the conditions are met
